Transmission problem
2004 Acura MDX All Wheel Drive Automatic 72000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I heard strange noises usually at 38-40mph especially when cold and asked acura dealer he says I need a new transmission because torque convertor is not working correctly, is it dangerous to drive, don't want to spend 4000 on new trans. now car seems to run ok just makes a growling noise

Hi there,

if your transmission is making a strange noise it may be chewing up a bush or bearing, and the end result may me a totally destroyed transmission and you stranded on the side of the road. I would get something done about it.
