1994 Acura Legend overheats & no heat in lower hose

i have replaced auto with two new thermostats with the jiggle in the top position as required. auto starts to heat up past a normal level and starts to overflow from the overflow. car was sitting idle for over one and one half years. i took thermostat out and ran water through engine and radiator until water was clear. do i have a clogged radiator?

Check the water pump, could be airlock in the system. Cooling fans are they coming on

Run the engine and feel for cold spots on front of the radiator if any present could be clogged up

One way to test for a bad water pump is to squeeze the upper radiator hose when the engine is hot and idling. Careful, because the hose will be HOT! If you do not feel much coolant circulating through the hose when you rev the engine, the pump may be bad. The other cause might be a bad thermostat that is not opening properly (remove and inspect the thermostat), or a clogged radiator

my fans do not come on until i turn the air conditioning on. i cannot feel the radiator because of the fans in the rear and the condenser in front of the radiator i do believe pump is ok because i hear no noises or see no water coming from it while running. i have replaced thermostats twice.

my fans do not come on until i turn the air conditioning on. The radiator fan should come on by itself w/o the use of the AC-might wanna check the coolant temperature sensor or the engine temperature gauge switch, fan relay
