What shift do you put int in to drive. It hesitates and jerks when you take off. It has a very roaring noise sometimes.

Under normal driving conditions, D4 is used at all times.
If the jerking is similar to the trans not catching and suddenly moving off, the most likely problem would be a failing transmission. If it is slow to take off and hesitates, it could be a fault with the engine misfiring.
If the Check Engine Light is indicating of the D4 light is flashing while driving, the trouble codes would have to be retrieved to understand what is wrong.
Did you check the transmission fluid level and condition?
