I have a 1998 Acura Integra GS 3dr hatchback with 128K miles. I took it in for major service because it was idling low and stuttering when I started it. With some gas it would get going just fine though. That's a moot point now, however, as I just received a call from my mechanic to inform me that they found a crack in the engine block (evidently the idling problem was misfires). The mechanic has told me that they won't do any more work to it given the engine block crack and the car is now essentially just a write off since it'll be too expensive to buy a new engine and will the old engine in, it will eventually just die on me.
My question is this... now what? Sell it for parts as a whole? Bring it to the salvage yard? Donate it?
Any advice would be appreciated.
