i have discovered that my timing skipped a few teeth and am going to replace it. i did notice that the crankshaft spun and is not aligned with the cams when it is at TDC. Is it possible for me to rotate the crankshaft to align it with the cams? i also want to know if i can rotate the crank clockwise? i know it should be rotated counter clockwise..askin if it possible just in case. thanks

Only rotate counter clockwise REMOVAL & INSTALLATION CAUTION:This application is an interference engine. Do not rotate camshaft or crankshaft when timing belt is removed, or engine damage may occur. TIMING BELT Removal Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise and support vehicle. Remove left front wheel. Remove left front wheelwell splash shield. Remove all drive belts. Remove power steering pump with hoses attached. Set power steering pump aside. Remove valve cover and upper timing belt cover.Turn crankshaft counterclockwise to bring No. 1 piston to TDC of its compression stroke. Position UP mark on sprockets at top. See Fig. 2 . Align grooves on sprockets. Remove crankshaft pulley. Remove left engine mount bolts and nut. Remove engine mount. Remove lower timing belt cover. Loosen timing belt tension adjuster bolt. Push tensioner to relieve tension on timing belt. Retighten adjuster bolt. Remove timing belt. Installation Ensure No. 1 piston is at TDC. See Fig. 4 . Install timing belt onto sprockets. DO NOT bend or twist belt excessively. Adjust timing belt tension. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. On 1993-01 models, tighten crankshaft pulley bolt to 147 ft. lbs. (200 N.m), loosen, then retorque to 133 ft. lbs. (180 N.m). On all models, adjust drive belts to proper tension.
