I've got an Acura Integra GS-R that has just recently started making a faint but noticeable squealing sound when I accelerate slowly from a stop. It’s faint enough that if the radio is on then you might not notice it. It only seems to happen in the morning or when the car hasn’t been driven for around 10 hours or so. The squealing noise has kind of a wavy pattern to it that quickens as I accelerate. However, it goes away within about 100 meters which makes it difficult to duplicate if I take it to a shop since it’s gone by the time I get there.
The noise will happen when I accelerate fwd from a stop up to maybe about 20 mph…but will stop when I take my foot off the gas pedal and coast fwd. If I’m idling at a stop and I rev the engine the noise is also not present. I don’t notice any unusual noises while I shift gears. It does seem to be a little bit louder and last a little longer when it’s colder outside. Also, I did have my brake pads replaced in the last few months and have no idea whether it could be related or not, but there is no unusual sound when braking. Do these symptoms sound like anything in particular to you? Thanks for your help.
