OBD2 code says Automatic Transaxle P0700 and Acura code P1791 Transmission control system malfunction. Am I looking at an expensive repair?

any how that is a generic code and indicate that you have a trouble in the tranny and in its controls
you need to have the tranny control module scan for codes
doing so will give you a clear picture on what is going on
as for p1791 I have nothing on that recheck the code
always check fuses as a 1st step

Hi jackc,
OBD I and II are not accurate when reading transaxle codes for non electronicaly controlled trans.
It would be better to get the manual code.
This trans does not have too many sensors.
