Hi jaymes91,

Was any repairs carried out prior to this happening?

Did you test the igniton coil power supply?

Is the Check Engine Light staying on after more than 2 seconds?

Is the 12 volts present at the Black/Yellow wire of distributor when ignition switch is turned ON and while cranlking?

Does the Check engine light stay ON or goes off after 2 seconds of turning ignition ON?

Did you check if the rotor is turning while cranking
? A bad timing belt would not turn the rotor and result in no sparks.

i have replaced my distrubtor brand new, checked my belt as well which is good also, i am a mechanic in school, my next step i am doing is replacing the ecu or pcm which stand for electronic control unit or power control module, which possiblity went out on my car so if that is the case i would get another ecu and try it, that what may be the problem. will update on that scenrio on monday evening, if that what fix my car. best way is to buy a used ecm off a junk car and take it to the dealership to have them program it. i heard it cost about 250.00 or so, but i would check with your local dealership if you want a brand new one and programmed you would be looking at about 900.00 for repair

For 1992 models, no progrmming can be done nor required on ECU/PCM. Just get a ECU/PCM and plugit in and it should work.

I asked one question but did not receive any answer for it.

Does the CHECK Engine Light comes on when ignition switch is turned ON?
Does it goes OFF after 2 seconds ?

Both above answers MUST be yes.

This question has diferent people having the same problem but the job done is different. Someone mentioned replacing the distributor and others did not, so it would be best if you list down what has been done so that we don't get confused.

As I mentioned earlier, not all causes of problems are the same. What if the ignition coils is bad and you replaced the ECM and still does not have any sparks?

The problerm is that most people do not go into diagnostics and just try with replacement of this and that hoping to strike the jackpot and often is a costly affair.

Perform diagnostics to find out what is wrong before replacement of parts is the way to save $, time and unnecessary parts replacement, not to mention the inconveniences.
