Hi,
Thank you for your response. Yes, you were true about the alternator and i had it changed now. But 2 days after i changed the alternator engine sign is flashing at times. Would that mean there is something wrong about the engine or does it take few days for teh alternator to get adjusted with the engine.

You should have used the "Reply to Question" link in initial post to continue so that whoever was attending to you can response when notification is received.

The check engine light showing means a fault has been detected in the engine management system.

Get a free scan done at your local Autozone outlet to find out what is wrong.
