I have a dual overhead cam 1.8 liter that I am trying to replace the plug on the left side of the cam in front of the distributor.
I was told to grease it and use something round slightly smaller in diameter to "pound" it in. It is not working, can you suggest a method that is faster/easier and will not ruin the part I had to order from far far away and wait a week for?[img:d28dde5e4c]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/168438_New_car_007_1.jpg[/img:d28dde5e4c]

If that's the plug on top of the valve cover, I hope that you have the torque specs for the cap.

I think that the only way to get that plug in is to remove the valve cover and the aluminum cap that it fits in. I'd put some sealer on it and on the corners of the cap when you put it back together. Make sure that you torque those cap bolts!
