1989 Acura Integra:

The wipers were frozen to the windshield. Turned them on and then realized they were stuck in the middle of the windshield. They had seemed weak but it may be old wiper blades.
The store showed a 4 point and 6 point relay. Do not know which it is because there is a 6 point wiper control and a 4 point relay. The wiper motor should work with assistance if weak I would think.

Hi rastenborg, You should verify what is the cause before attempting to replace any parts. FRONT WIPER MOTOR 1. Remove cowl air scoop and grille. Unbolt motor to gain access to connector. Remove wiring connector and wiper motor linkage from motor. 2. Test low speed connection by applying battery voltage to Green/Black (positive), and Blue (negative) wires at motor connector. 3. Test high speed by applying voltage to Green/Black (positive), and Blue/Yellow (negative) wires at motor connector.

2 days later I started the car. The wipers began to move. I recalled that I had washed the windshield at the station with windshield cleaner with a deicer.

Did the windshield wipers reset themselves?

Did the melted ice find a way into the motor?

Either way the wipers are working again despite
everything I tried!

Hi rastenborg,

There is a possibility the motor was frozen and culd not be activated. After defreezing itself, it works again. Cold weather is known to cause unexpected results to operations of vehicle components.

If it is ok now, then let it be.
