1998 Acura CL Gas to alcohol conversion

Im trying to convert my engine to run on alcohol, but am having trouble finding out what changes have to be ade to my fuel injection system, all the info i've found thus far has been for engines with carburators, thanks alot for your help

That is a good question. Unfortunately, I haven't an answer. I would hasten a guess though....I bet alcohol would require different fuel atomization pressures than gasoline. I bet there would also be problems with the compatability of some of the components of the system. By this I mean alcohol breaks certain plastics and rubber components down...and may erode seals. There may be some hints to take from some of the alcohol funny cars, and what adaptations were made for them vs. a standard gas motor.

if anything would have to be altered it would start with the ecm.it controls the pressure,duration and frequency of the injectors. it would have to take into account the volatility of the fuel and the cylinder's compression ratio to determine how much fuel would have to be compressed to reach the ideal exerted pressure needed to push the pistons into a continous revolution.it would also control the valves to be able to provide the necessary amount of air to ignite the fuel. i would suspect any other mechanical alterations would be for the engine's longevity and durability.
