1998 Acura CL 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i was driving and by mistake my car was knocked into park.. i stopped and turned off when i turned my car back on it was making this loud noise when its in P and it will not reverse when in R. It still drives smoothly but what is that??? and whats an estiment price range to fix that??

Hi millicentg,

You have damaged the parking gears and the one way clutch in the left side cover. Job would not be easy to do incar though possible and there are no labor listing for the job except transmission removal and overhaul.

Talk to your local trans specialist to see if they can provide you with an estimate for the repairs. Without removing the cover to check, it would be impossible to say what needs to be repaired/replaced so a price quote is not possible.
