sliding door actuator motor not working properly

Pictured below are the images of the motor actuator responsible for the operation of opening the passenger sliding door from the remote control and the 2 buttons inside the vehicle hands free.
As pictured, I replaced the battery when the sliding doors were not opening with the remote or buttons but were opening manually.
It worked well for at least 5 months and now the remote and buttons are not working again but I still can open the sliding door manually.
What would be the problem? Why is the battery draining out so quickly?

Hi,

Have you checked the wiring to it for power? If you run 12v direct, does it turn on?

I attached a couple pics below. The first one shows the motor you removed. Try providing 12v. where where the red wire connects and ground at the other. See if the motor runs.

Next, if the motor runs, conform there is power out from the ECU in the right door. See pics 2 and 3.

Do this and let me know the results.

So I would need a new actuator motor?

Hi,

Yes, a test light will work. Get a good ground on one side of the tester, and then probe the red wire to see if the light turns on. If it does, the only way to be 100% sure if the motor is bad is to supply power directly to it. However, if there is power in the red wire, there is a good chance the motor is bad.

Now, the ground can be a metal bolt or anything metal like the inside panel of the sliding door black metal plate keeping everything together.

Hi,

Yes, if it is bolted to the sheet metal or frame of the vehicle. Anything that can conduct metal and is connected with the electrical system ground.
