Accent GS Indigo illumination light has gone out.

Hi, I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent GS model, the dashboard lights are the illuminated blue backlight. Recently it was working fine, now its gone out, it flickered a few times then stopped working. I removed the cluster and checked the globes, they seem to be fine, but when the lights are on you can only see a faint white light behind the trip meter. The fuses are all ok as well. Any idea what causes this or how to fix it?
