So, I turned on my car and the A/C controls didn’t work. The control panel lit up but didn’t show anything, the buttons aren’t working. I thought that I might have some problems with the A/C system, but I tried the refrigerator, and it worked just fine. I turned on the A/C via the touch screen but now the settings got reset and the temperature is 25 and can’t change it through the touch screen. What could be the problem with the control Panel?

Hi,

There are a few things that can cause this. For example, the panel fuse may have failed, the AC Amplifier may have failed, the controller itself, and so on.

Here is what I recommend. First, check the panel fuse. It is in the fuse box under the dash. See pic 1 below. It is fuse 10 in the fuse box.

In addition to checking the fuse, make sure there is power to and from it.

If that fuse is good and has power, I recommend having the can-bus scanned to determine if there are diagnostic trouble codes stored in different modules.

CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different modules are tied together via a few wires so they can communicate with each other. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them. I'm recommending this because otherwise, it will become a guessing game with several expensive components.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Let me know your thoughts or if you have questions. Also, if you have it scanned, record the code or codes and let me know what they are.

Take care,

joe

Thank you for the update. Make sure the fuses have power to and from them as well. Also, I feel at this point, the can-bus should be scanned.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Take care,

Joe
