A/C vents issue, no matter what mode you select it comes out of the defrost

if you choose front very little air comes out from there.

Hi,

It sounds like there is a problem with the mode door actuator. This actuator is what changes the airflow direction.

Now, this vehicle has a mode door actuator for the defroster door and one for the floor and vent. Here is what I would suggest. Remove the floor/vent actuator and see if it responds when you change airflow directions. Do the same with the defroster actuator if the other one doesn't work.

I attached directions for the removal and replacement of both in the attachments below. The defroster mode actuator is behind the glove box. The floor/vent actuator is on the left side of the instrument panel. Both are attached to the HVAC unit.

You mean remove the connector or remove the whole actuator? I removed the harness of the defrost one and nothing happened. And when you see the other one is on the left of the instrument you mean on the driver side?

Yep, the driver's side is correct. And I believe your picture shows it.

When checking these, it's easier to have the actuator removed to see if it responds when you change settings.

Hi,

It's easier to see if the actuator is working that way. Also, if it does work, place a little bit of a load on the actuator to make sure it doesn't stop or start clicking.

Both of them work, but even if i move the arm on driver side or turn the star thing on passenger side, it is still very little comes out the front. Defrost is always blowing no matter what i do, only difference when playing with both sides manually is that sometimes it blows out front a bit while other times it blows zero and all go to defrost. I don't want defrost, and i thought that by turning the blend doors manually it should change. Nothing comes from floor, 80% from defrost and 20% out front.

It sounds like the doors are not working. Does anything feel broken when you do it manually? Does it feel like there is resistance and do you hear the door moving?

If you do it manually and nothing happens, the door inside must be broken.

Nothing feels broken, i removed all three actuators and no matter what combination i use by moving them manually defrost always exist and the air coming out of the front is maybe, just maybe around 50% of where it should be, at highest speed. Yes, i can feel the doors move when i do it manually.

Do you know what flap controls the heat/cold? air coming out of vents now at decent amount, but it is not hot at all. I may have done something while working on these vents.

The blend air door is responsible for air temperature. I attached two pics below showing the location of the actuator. The door is behind the actuator.
