A/C not getting cold after all of the work

A/C air wasn't cold enough for me. I purchased the refrigerant stuff and A/C was more warm. Figured the air compressor not coming on so replaced that. Everything running sounds great but guess what hot air. I have been melting for three days. could it be that sensor in glove box that made compressor not kick on to begin with? Doesn't make sense that all of the sudden compressor fan wasn't coming on? Thank you so much. Kimberley Gabrielli Delaware

Hi Kim and welcome to 2CarPros.

Is the compressor engaging? Also, you said the AC was working, but not cold enough. How much Freon was added to the original unit? You could have over charged it.

Here are a few links that you may find helpful. I will also need to know how the new system was recharged, the pressure readings you have and outside temperatures when checked, and if the compressor is engaging at this point.

I added the second link because it shows how to use AC manifold gauges to get both the low and high side pressures. I need to know them. It is very possible that the system is working but the blend air door in the HVAC system is not moving to allow cold air to enter, but I want to know the condition of the system before I suggest that.
