Replacement A/C compressor not working?

Yes, what I'm needing help with is the A/C compressor went out and so I ordered a new one. When the new one got to me, I noticed that it had an extra plug on it that my old one didn't have. So, I didn't think anything of it, so I installed it and now my A/C still doesn't work. Is there any way that I can make my A/C work or do I need a different compressor? I don't have a connection plug for the extra part on my wire harness. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi,

When you say there are extra plugs, do you mean electrical connectors? There should only be one wire to the compressor clutch, a dark blue wire with a black tracer. Is that what you are seeing? See pic below.

Not quite the old compressor only has one plug-in connector on the compressor but the new one has 2 connections the regular one and one on the back of the compressor but my car only ha she one plug-in.

In the picture the green plug in is not on the old. Compressor bit the picture looks just like the new one I have and also my A/C system only has the one port to put the Freon into the system bit it doesn't have the other port.

Hi,

Based on your old one and what I am seeing in the wiring schematics, they provided the wrong compressor.

The green plug on the new one may be a pressure switch which is located differently. Also, the idea that you only have one port indicates the other should be on one of the A/C lines.

Have you tried contacting the supplier?

No, not yet, but I will for sure. Also, the other one that I don't have a plug on my wire harness has to be plugged in for it to work, right?

Hi,

If it is a pressure switch, yes, it needs to be connected to work. I am going to ask the site owner what he feels that plug is for. He is excellent with AC systems. You may see a response from him. His name is Ken.

Hi, I think Joe is correct. The compressor is the wrong one or unit is universal and doesn't need to be used. With the system on I would use a test light to see if there is power going to the compressor.
