I bought an electric leak detector and found the beep under the dash where my ginger is, around the blower plug in, is that pretty much the evaporator? Instructions on how to replace it?

Good afternoon,

Under the dash, there are 2 lines that come in from the firewall to the expansion valve that bolts to the housing.

You need to narrow down the are of leaking. If you have an detector, you should be able to turn it off and on again to help 0 in on the leak. It may be external.

To do the evaporator you need to remove the entire dash board and the HVAC housing. It is a major job. I posted a YouTube video below for you of the repair.

Yes, am aware it's pain. that is some stupid design. If it was the evaporator i would have expected it to beep in the center but it's towards the right side, hard to pinpoint it as there is all this white plastic around it which is part of the whole thing. Expansion valve you mean the evaporator?

No, the expansion valve is a small valve that bolts on to the front of the evaporator.

That bolts to the 2 lines from the firewall as well.
