My A/C is blowing hot air, but towards end of winter season I noticed the heat wasn't getting really hot as usual and I was having problems with the defrost as well.

How do I know if this is an A/C compressor or blend door actuator problem?

You are correct that this could be either of these issues. So the best thing to do is check the compressor first.

We need to turn the A/C on and see if the compressor is engaging under the hood.

We need to check the pressures next. Hook up a gauge set and test it with the A/C off engine running and then turn the A/C on and see what the pressures do.

Once we know the pressures and that the compressor is engaging we will have a better idea if this is a compressor issue.

Here is a guide on blend door replacement if we have to go that way:

Lastly below is a chart that will help with possible issues with the pressures. Let me know what you find with this and we can go from there. Thanks
