A/C compressor noise?

150,000 MILES • 2.5L • 5 CYL • 2WD • AUTOMATIC

When the A/C is on, and the compressor is running there's an intermittent clicking noise appearing to come from the compressor. This is not the normal noise of the compressor kicking on and off. It has progressively gotten worse and more frequent. Freon level was checked, and it is full. No signs of leaks or seepage. You can hear the clicking noise clearly in the video. Video won't upload.

Hi,

The video should have uploaded. I know they can take some time to upload, but they should.

As far as the clicking, it could still be the compressor clutch making the noise. Something could be failing or loose.

Let me know if you can get the video uploaded. Also, pay attention if the compressor clutch is actuating when you hear the noise.

Hi,

For some reason, I'm not seeing the first one, but I did see the second. I do hear the noise. I need you to watch the belt tensioner to see if it jumps a bit when you hear it. The tensioner may be getting weak. The compressors added load may be causing it.
