AC Compressor Cycles without being selected

The clutch on my AC compressor cycles on and off all the time with out the AC of defrost being selected. The only time it does not is when the dash switch is set to off. 2004 Ford Ranger 6 Cyl.

have a local pro scan for codes it may be the control head is bad....
