Hi,

I included the procedure which should answer your question. You will want to make sure the clutch field coil works as well because you will want to replace it at the same time.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks

I have three questions.

1. Do you have the Serpentine Belt diagram for this Vehicle to bypass the AC Compressor?

2. All the auto parts stores wont sell just the AC Clutch they want me to buy the whole Compressor.

3. The Part that you see in the picture is that the Clutch Hub or just the Clutch?

1. Looks like our manual does not have the belt routing with no AC. I would not recommend this anyway. I would just do an internet search for an AC compressor bypass pulley that fits your engine. Basically, this is just a pulley that bolts in place of your compressor and it allows you to use the stock belt and doesn't require any alterations.

2. You can find a clutch rebuild kit that has the needed parts just to replace the clutch. Most parts stores do that just because not many people do just the clutches any more so they don't sell them. Supply and demand.

3. That appears to be just the hub. The clutch would go on the back of that and probably is part of the pulley itself.

Here is a popular website that appears to have each component individually:

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/mercury,2006,mountaineer,4.0l+v6,1432274,heat+&+air+conditioning

Again, if it were me, I would replace each of the components on the front of the compressor while you are there.

Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks

Hey Mr Kenny.
My Wife's uncle replaced the clutch hub on the AC compressor
It was slipping inside the compressor pulley.
Thank you so much for your help!!!
