AC, check engine light, and shuts down while driving

AC blows warm and engine shuts off quietly while driving! The dashboard lights are very dim at night. Some overheating. The only warning lights that show are battery light for a second and check engine light.
What should I do? Is it bad and expensive or tune-up and a repair? Plus car has never had a tune up. Please help!
