A/C only blowing air from the defrost vent

my air just goes to window not my center vent. I will start the car and it will come through the center vent but then go back to the defrost and I do here a noise seems like it coming from being the dash and I can change it from hot to cold. help please.

Good morning,

The mode door actuator is most likely the issue. The noise is the key as when the gears go bad, they make noise.

I attached a procedure for you. The dashboard has to be removed to gain access to the actuator.
