AC forty five second delay

Two problems: Recently replaced evaporator coil on car. AC now works great. However, since getting it fixed, when I turn on the car after it has been off for a while, it takes forty five seconds for the AC to turn on. The controls on AC panel will not work at all during this time. When it does turn on after forty five seconds it always sets the temperature at seventy five degrees and all controls are workable. Now if I turn the car off and get back in with in I say fifteen minutes, this problem does not occur. The AC starts right away. However if the car sits for an hour then you have to wait the forty five seconds for the car AC to turn itself on.

Second problem since having the evaporator coil fixed. When I turn off the car, a strange sound comes from the center of the dash where all the electronics are like the A/C and CD player. It sounds like the CD player is changing disc even though their are no disc in the player. I also put a CD in to see if it played and it does. The sound continues for several minutes. Please help. I am not sure if these problems are the result of the mechanics who fixed my car, as I have never had these issues before. And because they did not put the dash/console back together right the first time, I did have some gear issues hanging up, but that has been fixed, once I told them what it was. this will need to go back to the mechanics that fixed it . Because it is auto temperature control they have to scan it to see if any codes or sensors are messed up or not connected which is very possible.

Spoke to the mechanic concerning your answer to run the scan on auto temperature control to see if any codes or sensors messed up or not connected. His reply was he has been in the dash three times and there is no reading and there is no way something would not be connected otherwise the system would not come on at all. I also asked him why he said the noise from the dash was fixed and the noise is still there. He said he did not hear a noise while test driving I explained the noise was after the car turned off. He said your car is old and the problems I have are mostly like a module going bad that had nothing to do with his work. Any advise.

he may be partly right that the system would not work but there is definitely something causing the delay, but it looks like he is not going to fix it. try another garage and see if they can find the cause or take to a shop that specializes in A/C.

Thank you for the response on the forty five second delay. I called the mechanic and gave him your input about running a scan on the auto temperature for any code or sensor errors and checking to see if something was not connected. Of course he said they did all that and he suspect a module is going out which has nothing to do with his work and he also said they was probably the sound I am hearing coming from the dash. I am a woman and suspect he is lying to me. What is your take? I am taking it to Toyota dealer to check it out. Hopefully they will be able to figure it out and will not scam me. Thanks for your help.
