A/C works intermittently

Good morning,

Do you have gauges that can give me the high and low side of the AC system while it is running?

When you command heat and cold in the front, do you hear the mode door move?

This could be a Freon issue or it could be a blend door issue.

INSPECTION

1. REMOVE LOWER FINISH PANEL
2. REMOVE NO.1 SAFETY PAD INSERT
3. REMOVE CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
4. REMOVE CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
5. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER

6. REMOVE AIR MIX SERVOMOTOR
a. Disconnect the wire harness clamp.
b. Disconnect the connector.
c. Remove the 3 screws and air mix servomotor.

7. INSPECT AIR MIX SERVOMOTOR CIRCUIT
8. INSPECT AIR MIX DAMPER POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT

9. INSTALL AIR MIX SERVOMOTOR
a. Install the air mix servomotor with 3 screws
b. Connect the connector.
c. Connect the wire harness clamp.

10. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER
11. INSTALL CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
12. INSTALL CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
13. INSTALL NO.1 SAFETY PAD INSERT
14. INSTALL LOWER FINISH PANEL

Thanks for responding. yes, i have a gauge. this morning i switched it from hot to cold slowly and it started to get cold again.

Okay, what were the high and low side readings?

I only checked the low side it was in yellow.

I need numbers. Can you give me the actual pressure? It is important.

I am at my car now.

I just tested the low line and that is reading i am getting.

Okay, what is the outside temperature?

Outside temperature is 83 degrees.

Okay, there is enough pressure for the A/C to come on.

Start the engine, turn on the A/C and tell me if the pressure changes.

I started it but the A/C doesn't come on.

When i just came to the car today the A/C was cold but after a few minutes it got hot.

Okay, and the gauge reading when it was cold and when it got warm?

When it was cold it was 55 in the yellow.

When the A/C gets hot the reading is red.

Okay, thanks. This sounds like it is overcharged.

How much Freon was installed in the system? The low pressure is too high and I need to see the high side as well.

The gunge i have wont fit on the high side.

You need a set of gauges you can rent them at a parts store.
