Bought truck through a government auction. Vehicle has ABS and brake light on in dash. I was told code C2202 code

ABS Module from different vehicle.
ABS Module.
Wrong VIN programmed into vehicle.

Can this be reprogrammed or do I need a new ABS module that can be programmed? Thanks

Unfortunately this needs to be replaced. Using an ABS module that is already programmed cannot be over written. Here is the test that you can run through but unfortunately it looks like you need a module. The only other possible cause is if the PCM VIN is incorrect. If it is then that is your issue.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

Thanks, I did have that flow chart. I did take to dealer and they told me it needed a new ABS module. I'm not sure whether they checked the VIN on ECM or not. Also I discovered that the ABS on the truck, the part number is for a Durango so I am not even sure if has the correct part on it. I can get a salvage part but if I do, will I end up with the same problem? Dodge wants $1,400.00 to fix I paid $1,800.00 for truck with 72,000 miles..

Yeah. That is probably why you got such a good price. Clearly I don't know the detail about your truck but the value is probably around $3,000.00 to $4,000.00 so you got it at half price because it needs such an expensive repair. Plus that is pretty common for people who are flipping cars and either don't know what they are doing or just trying to repair it as cheap as possible, to put used parts from other vehicles in it.

If you go with a salvage unit, you will be in the same spot. Unfortunately, to properly fix this, you will need a new one.

Wrong answer. All parameters in this module are editable.
