Had diagnostic done. ABS control module is bad, but the big named shop said they have to replace brakes and rotors all the way around car. To start it don't have rotors all the way around, it has drums on back. I said my husband can do everything but ABS control module. They said they have to do everything, or we will have to replace module all over. They make it sound like I have to take it to shop every time it needs brakes. Is this true?

Hi,

No, that isn't true. A new ABS module will need to be programmed and calibrated for your vehicle, but it does not require the brakes to be replaced.

I attached the directions for replacing the ABS module. Take a look through them and let me know if you have questions.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe
