The ABS pump motor runs continuously. We believe the control module (EBCM) is at fault and intend to replace it. Any gotchas? Any special advice on making it go smoothly and painlessly? For this model, will the EBCM require reprogramming as well?

Hi,

As far as replacing the module, it is straight forward. You shouldn't have any problems other than tight spaces. LOL

Since this is a new module, it does need to be programmed. If you look below, I attached the directions for replacing the module and then the directions for programing.

Take a look through the directions and let me know if they help or if you have questions.

Take care,

joe

Dumb question, but I want to be sure: reprogramming requires special equipment, correct?

No question is dumb. LOL

Yes, it does require special tooling with the latest software. Not all repair shops have one. Any dealership should.

Starting with pic 10, the programming information is indicated.

Let me know.

This is all great. We're contacting the Chevy Dealership in town and working out the programming details. I just needed the confirmation that programming WAS required for this model and the reassurance that an old computer nerd like me (no mechanic!) could do the physical EBCM swap. You've earned your site a GoFundMe gratuity. Your boss should thank you. :)

Hi Dave, you are very welcome, and thank you. I'm glad to know it helped.

Feel free to come back anytime in the future. Also, if you have a chance, let us know how things turn out for you and if we can help in any way.
