My alternator went in my car and I replaced with a brand new alternator my batter and check engine light came on immediately after. Took it back to mechanic he scoped it nothing showed up so we charged battery for 5 hours next day no problem. Now two days after my ABS check engine, airbag and battery light are all on! Faulty alternator or bad battery??

I my mechanic test it the only thing that came back was P0172 which I understand means running rich. But as for alternator it tested fine since putting in brand new one my batter was a bit on the low side so they charged it up for me.

Why don't you have the battery tested before replacing it?I really doubt your battery is causing all your problems. Also what abs and air bag codes do you have? You said those lights were on so there should be codes.Did the guy looking at your car have a professional scan tool that can read all your cars computer?Or did he just have a diyer scan tool?
