Two months ago my 3 alerts appeared on my dash
1. ABS SERVICE REQUIRED
2. ACS SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED
3. 4WD (flashing)
Traction Control lights are on as well. And as a results of all these alerts, my engine light has come on.
My mechanic informed me I need to replace two rear ball bearings. The ball bearings contain the wheel sensors (which control the breaking systems and 4WD systems) which are secured with a clip. Both clips have broke and the sensors are rattling around in the bearings and as a result are generating alerts.
Today I cleaned the interior of my vehicle and while wiping it down, I accidentally engaged the 4WD. I did not notice this, and when I began driving my car down my street, another alert on the dash appeared reading "4WD OVERHEATING SLOW DOWN".
I disengaged the 4WD, placed the car in park, and turned it off. A couple minutes later I restarted my car but the alert continued to flash on the dash. I turned off the car and left. It has not been started since.
Is it possible that the car may now be stuck in 4WD?
Has anyone had any similar problems with their Mitsubishi 4WD vehicle?
