ABS lights on

Drove the car out of the garage after passing its MOT. (prior MOT passing a front coil had to be fitted as it broke when placing on ramps) all fitted MOT passed. On leaving the garage the ABS and the tracking lights came on. Back to garage checked with their machine showed NS rear sensors to be the fault - bought the parts original VW and the lights still stayed on. Disconnected the power supply hoping to reset but lights still on. Took to a VAG garage said it showed on their machine RS sensor to be replaced so took back to original garage and they purchased and fitted other sensor. Lights still on. Original garage he has now suggested VW auto electrician for a diagnostic. Is it worth doing a Auto Electric Diagnostic? will it show any different? Help! what to do next? The car drives straight when emergency braking car still drives straight. what to do?

The car was sold buyer waiting but I cannot sell until lights clear. Any suggestions please?

It would be worthwhile to have someone who understands how to test this circuit and not just replace the part. We need to test the wheel speed sensors and the wiring plus the control module.

Normally the sensor is the issue but if the light is not going off then it is going to require someone to test the circuit to find out what the issue is.

Let us know the specific code and we can provide the testing that needs to be completed but most of these shops will have access to it as well. However, it would be good to post that here just so that others that have the same issue can get the testing as well.

Hi KaseKenny Expert. On Wednesday I will take to the auto electrician however I am just wondering !! Previously When I took the car in for the MOT it was driving perfectly well until the guy put it on the ramps to perform MOT and said the front coil spring had just broke and needed to be replaced which I told to proceed to fit the part to pass the MOT - my question is, could the guy who fitted the front coil spring have either not replaced correctly or damaged a wire which had then triggered something that the ABS and tracking lights came on? I am now getting concerned after completing coil spring and now fitting both RS and NS rear sensors that the lights will not even go off even after been seen by a auto electrician and I am spending more money. Also if the Auto Machine finds no fault and the if lights still wont go off, what is next?

Absolutely that could have happened. You have to unhook the speed sensor to remove the coil spring so I bet he did not connect it back properly or completely. Sometimes when you plug a connector back in it doesn't fully seat. I would have this inspected but they should be able to confirm this is the issue by checking the codes. If there is a speed sensor code for that wheel that this was replaced on then that is what I would expect.
