ABS and AWD light are on but not flashing

Earlier this year I had a flashing ABS and AWD lights on my dash, the Nissan mechanic said the front left speed sensor was bad so I had I replaced it along with the wheel bearing. I did the work myself because it's not a difficult task to preform. The lights stopped flashing but are on continuously now. I also have an issue locking in the AWD with the auto lock toggle switch in my vehicle now and desperately need to get these issues fixed. I'm living on a fixed income and money is really tight right now! Do you have any possible solutions? I would greatly appreciate it.

Do you know if it's the same code or issue? It could be a different problem altogether. I would suggest checking the diagnostic codes that are stored in your vehicles computer due to the dash lights being on. Here is a tutorial showing how to retrieve diagnostic codes:

Just be sure the scanner or code reader used can support ABS- anti-lock brakes and AWD - all wheel drive capabilities as well as engine and transmissions. After performing this diagnostic reading get back to us with any code information and then we can properly diagnose the issues you are having. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Thank you for the fast reply! I don't have a scanner to check for codes, I'd have to go to the local Nissan dealership to have that done! One thing you mentioned that wasn't done is clearing the error code that was originally caused by the faulty speed sensor. If this wasn't addressed could this be the problem now?

Hello again.

This is one of the things we need to check for. if you never erased the existing code it still might be stored. Best thing this do is disconnect the positive battery cable and leave disconnected for 15 minutes. This will erase all stored codes. After driving at least 25 miles any new codes will trigger the diagnostic lights to come on. These will be the most recent codes that will need to be addressed.
