I accidentally hit a truck at toll gate and there was a damage to number plate and a hole to the cap plug at the right side top above the head lamp. I have been searching online: 1. What is the purpose of that cap(This plug/cap)? 2. Can it be replaced with a new one or Should I change the entire front bumper. Please reply asap as it's my friend's car and I need to get it fixed by tomorrow.

Visit the nearest salvage yard or body shop. They will take a quick peek at what you're referring to and will be able to tell you what needs to be replaced. There's often different styles of parts when a certain car model has different options or trim packages. If a broken part can be removed, the same part can be switched from a car in the salvage yard. Very often the only way to get them new from the dealer is to get it with a complete assembly.

Good morning,

I attached a YouTube video of the procedure for you.

The clips, if they are broken, need to be replaced. You can get them at the dealer and they are very inexpensive.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

I found a much better quality video for you to follow.

It is a straight forward removal process. There are clips and Phillip head screws that hold the cover to the car.
