air conditioner slow to turn on

So when you say slow to turn on do you slow to get cold? Or do you mean something else?

Hi. I mean it's cold enough, but the fan speed is slow and then slows more. You can barely feel any force of air.

Alright does the fan speed seem to increase in speed everytime you increase it?

If you mean by "increase it" when we turn up the force of air (fan/blower)..,no. When we start the truck, the fan knob is in the highest position. Ittakes about 15 minutes for the fan and cool air to come on. But then in a few seconds, the fan blows only VERY low, almost nothing. The air is still cool. Turning the fan knob down low and then right back up again doesn't do any good. Someone said they think it might be a grounding problem.

No. It's set on high and then goes to a VERY low speed. Yes, the mechanic tested it and shows the power is going all thru there. I'm hoping you come up with a solution before we take it back to the mechanic on Monday to see if it's a grounding problem. He said there's probably a hundred groundings which are numbered, but he doesn't know which number applies to this issue. He said a connector may be getting hot and shutting it down. Do you know about grounding and connectors re this? Thx!

Yes I do but we still have to do some testing with a multi meter to find the problem.Like on high of its getting full battery voltage but it still loosing speed then you could have a bad fan motor.

The mechanic already put on/in a new fan motor, a new switch, and some kind of small box that wires are hooked to on.

Sounds like the resistor your talking about.So do you have a multi meter to do some testing?Going to have to do some testing to see what's going on.There has already been a lot of parts replaced and still hasn't solved anything.Do you have auto climate control or manual controls?

My husband has a multi meter. It has dual auto climate control, but it always seemed both sides of vents put out cold air based on the coldest of the two settings. Maybe we weren't using it correctly. I didn't understand what the manual said when I read it about this.

Do you actually dial in the temp number or is it just a red blue adjustment?Also has anyone scan the AC computer for codes?that would take a professional scan tool not s diyer scan tool to do that.

Depending on the scan tool sometimes you can control the AC blower fan AC doors etc.
