The air coming from the A/C vents smells like a wire is hot or burning?

When on heat it's fine but if I turn the A/C on, it smells through the vents like a wire is getting hot or burning.

Yep, this happens when the blower motor speed resistor is starting to burn out here is the location so you can remove it and look for signs of burning. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find.
