I turned my defrost on for my windows and then turned my A/C on. The air kept blowing through the dashboard instead of the vents.

There is an actuator on this vehicle which is operated by engine vacuum. It controls the air flow directions between the defroster and the panel. I am going to provide directions for replacing it, but before you do, make sure the vacuum supply hose is connected, not damaged, and check to see if there is vacuum to it when you change air flow direction.

REMOVAL

1. Remove the instrument panel lower panel.

2. Remove the actuator.
1 Disconnect the actuating rod.
2 Disconnect the vacuum lines.
3 Remove the nuts.
INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

I will try that as soon as possible. It is flooding where I live right now. Once that is done I will give it a try.

Hey Joe, apologies for the late reply. Everything is fine now, thank you very much. As far as the car goes, the A/C is working again. For some reason they had to change the vacuum line because something was grinding into the line and put a hole in there. They could have been lying but its working and that was my main concern.

Glad it's fixed. I had a feeling it was a vacuum issue or the actuator. It was vacuum. Interestingly, a hole is odd, however, dry rot isn't. So, anything could have happened.
