Catalytic converter will not past smog

How new is the catalytic converter?

You most likely need to do the drive cycle to set the monitor. Driving normally will not run the monitor. I attached the procedure below for you to follow.

The catalytic converter was just replaced with both o2 sensors. mechanics have been trying to set it and it's not working. they said the temperature won't go over 172. they also replaced the temperature sensor.

And no codes are popping up either.

Did they follow the procedure I posted?

Yes, they did. they have driven it multiple times doing what you said and nothing still.

Multiple times? It takes about 20 minutes to do it once and it does not sound right at all. I have never had one that I could not clear.

What brand converter did you use?

I'm not sure. I work at a gas station that has mechanics and it is a car they are trying to sell me. I don't know too much about car repair so I'm just going on what they tell me.

If they used a cheap converter, I can see why it won't set.

We use either Walker or Bozal as our replacements.

Okay, there should be no reason for the monitor not to be set.

Yes, they just keep saying that the catalytic converter won't pass, and the temperature won't go over 172. I work in Cupertino, and they have driven the car to Redwood City and back and also to San Francisco and back and on the freeway a couple times and still nothing.

Distance means nothing. It is all about the process that must be followed.
