Oh, if only it was that simple. This is a computer controlled, Pulse Width Modulated system that sends a variable pulse modulation to the pump to vary the pressure.
The only way to accurately diagnose this system is with a bidirectional scan tool. There is a rail pressure sensor that can be read from the scanner while the scanner can vary the pulse to the pump for testing.
