Transmission swap

I am putting a 1993 4l60e with no nss. in a 1995 truck with a nss. What do i do to switch it? does it even need to be connected at all?


I read on Google before 1990-1995 transmissions are all the same.

Google is almost correct. The transmissions are the same designation but there are differences. One big one is that the build date of your truck makes a big difference. An early year build is going to be OBD I while the later builds are OBD II compliant.
The catch there is that the earlier transmission does not have the correct internal controls or the range sensor pieces to work with the computer in the 1995. That switch tells the ECM what gear the transmission is in so the controller can function. Without it you will not have a working automatic. It may not operate properly even with the switch installed because of other changes.

So is there a way to by pass this neutral safety switch or exchange it to the 1993 transmission? or how would you go about this?

No way to bypass it as it provides the controller with the info, on the older vehicles the switch was in the column or in the console that did the same thing. You might be able to find a bracket or make one to allow it to bolt on but I've never really looked for one.
Maybe a couple pieces of 1/8" strap steel bent to hold the switch in place and attached to the pan bolts?
