92 Saturn S series will not shift into drive when Im going down the road. It goes into 1st and 2nd but wont go into drive.

Is the trans fluid clean and full? Has the check engine light come on?

Yes the trans fluid is clean and full. The check engine light is on and the shift D2 light is on.

Okay, since it only goes to D2, chances are there is an issue with the ranger sensor. Since the check engine light is on, that tells me there are trouble codes stored in the computer that could confirm my beliefs. What I recommend that you do first is to have the computer scanned to determine what the codes are which are stored. Most parts stores will scan the computer for free, so try that and let me know what code or codes are found.

Well the parts store is saying they can only scan 96 and up. This is a 92...
