The fuel pump is not turning on, in line?

On my truck listed above 2.9, the fuel pump is not coming on when I turn the key. However, I hook wires up to the fuel pump directly to the battery the fuel pump comes on. So, the fuel pump I believe is good. However, when I hook it up down underneath and turn the key it's not coming on. can you give me some advice?

Hi,

First, at the pump, there should be two wires. One will be black with a pink tracer, and the other will be black. The black/pink is the power supply. Have a helper turn the key to the run position while you check that wire for power. If there is power check the black wire for continuity to ground.

Next, have you tried resetting the inertia switch? If you haven't, I would try that next. The inertia switch is used to cut the fuel pump's power in the event of an accident. (See pic below)

Let me know what you find. There are a few other things to check, but I don't want to drive you crazy all at once. LOL
