I just bought the vehicle listed above Laredo four speed transmission. It went straight to the shop for a four inch lift and wheel package. I try to drive it out and there is no power. It will not move. It starts up and idles fine but will not drive. I go to put it in 4 Lo, and it moves slightly. Any help greatly appreciated.

When in gear and you let out on the clutch,

What happens?

Any sounds?

It starts up and idles, but it won’t even rev up when I press the gas pedal. Also I have to put it in 4 Lo to even get to move not even an inch. I’m stumped. I’m thinking about pulling the trigger and doing a V8 swap.

A six is more suited for a CJ,

What does it do exactly when you attempt to apply accelerator? (die, continue to run?)

Last time it had a fuel filter?

If the engine won't run, how are you getting it to move an inch?

I assume it was running fine when you dropped it off?

With this new information, I'm torn between a drive train issue and an engine issue.

We're going to pursue the engine for the moment.

Check your vacuum lines, one may be loose, cracked, completely off. At the same time, insure your carburetor is snugged down to the intake manifold.

Insure the pedal linkage moves the carburetor shaft when it is depressed at the pedal. (something could have been bumped loose).

I'm grasping for information, bear with me, I'm not trying to get you all flustered.

It does start and idle no problem. It will run. Just when I press on the gas, nothing. No movement at all. It doesn’t even rev up when I press the gas.

Can you actuate the throttle under the hood at the carburetor?
