High mileage question

2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO
300,000 MILES • 6.0L • V8 • 4WD • AUTOMATIC

I am thinking about buying the truck listed above, 2500 6.0l. This truck has a lot of miles 300,000 which is why I am hesitant.The truck was well maintained an in good condition with a rebuilt transmission and transfer case. I am getting a fair price but would this be a good purchase with the high miles? If so, what are the main things I should look at? I did look at it but he is giving me a couple days.

Good morning.

If the engine is original, plan on replacing it. The 6.0 life is about 250,000 to 300,000.

Suspension, differentials are beyond their life as well.

I would prepare for major expenses very shortly which is probably why it is for sale right now.

Suspension was replaced. Differentials have not. He is my neighbor. He got a new truck. I am probably going to pass on it though. Thanks!

Good move. Look for something with lower mileage.
