4x4 and 4 low light turns on and stays on after driving and restarting

when cold all okay, after driving turn it off when you restart the 4x4 4 low light comes on and stays on. then it feels like the transmission will not go into 4 gear after sitting a few hours. it will start with no lights and work fine until you turn it off again and restart while warm. changed the transfer motor and oil, fuse. not sure if it also work on a relay . thanks Moe

Hello,

This can happen when the actuator goes out. here is how you change the unit out. They call it a shift cam. I would remove it to see if it will work outside the transfer case first. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
