I took the spark plug boot off that goes to the distributor and determined no spark; would not arc. I think it's called the coil pack. no fuel to the carburetor.

Hi,

What I need you to do first is check for diagnostic trouble codes. This vehicle has an obd1 system and a scanner is not required to retrieve codes. All that is needed is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip. Here is a link that explains how it is done. Do this and let me know the codes you find.

I have a feeling it is related to the ignition control module. If it fails, it shuts off the injectors as well. However, you still should have fuel pressure from the pump.

Try this and let me know.

Was it the coolant temperature sensor you replaced? That is what is related to the code 15. That sensor won't cause the no spark/fuel issue.

Just to confirm, there is no spark or fuel to the engine, correct?

Let me know.

According to the manual, code 12 is a false code. Take a look at the attached pic. That is what I find when looking for a code 12. Are you certain that is the number?

Basically, I attached the pic so you could see, according to Alldata, there is no relevant code for 12. Have you checked for a good ground and power to the PCM?

First, before you unplug or reconnect any control module (PCM) make sure the battery is disconnected. You can reconnect the battery after the component is disconnected or reconnected.

I attached a pic of the location of the PCM. To start, first locate and confirm the connections are tight. If they are, disconnect the battery and then unplug the PCM. Check for corrosion, dirt, or any damaged pins.

Let me know what you find.

Great!!! Have you rechecked for diagnostic trouble codes that may indicate the cause of the rough running?

The vehicle is running but something is wrong to where it won't pickup speed unless I keep my foot on the gas pedal.

Hi,

If you take your foot of the gas, does it idle? I ask because when there is power loss like you described, I always think a possible plugged catalytic converter. If you remove one of the O2 sensor before the cat, see if it helps at all. If you notice an improvement, chances are that is the issue.

Take a look through this link and see if it mirrors what you are experiencing.
