balance shafts

I have another question about these balance shafts. what it the proper way of timing them with the crank? I have read the book I am unsure about steps 20 and 21.

There is no information about the oil pick up anywhere on the internet and the book i found one picture of it, but i need the sprocket bolt torque specs.

if you mean the balance shaft sprocket bolt like in picture, it is 30 ft. lbs plus another forty five degrees.

So the little chain sprocket there in the picture is 30 ft lbs ? That is a balance shaft?

from what I can tell it is. that is also a left hand bolt and must be replaced instead of tightening old one up. See picture.

Thanks so much. um one more question, if i am 100% rebuilding this engine is there anything that needs to be replaced inside the balance shaft housing?

not really as it is mostly in oil anyhow bearings maybe but you may not be able to redo them and it may be sold as a unit.
