The fold down DVD player in my van listed above stopped working completely. I have already replaced the ribbon once (about 6 months ago) due to a blue screen and it worked fine. However this time it looks like the DVD player isn't getting any power. The front console and radio work fine and show the movie working on the dashboard. I was thinking maybe it might be a fuse but didn't know where to look.

I am attaching the wiring diagram for this system. Below you will find the info needed for this fuse. We need to check the fuse and then make sure there is power getting to the module itself. There are 3 inline connectors that can cause an issue so if we can drop the module out of the headliner and make sure there is 12 volts getting there then we can be more confident that the issue is the unit itself. However, we need to check for codes just to make sure the module is offline. If it is not communicating it should set some codes and that will give us some more testing to prove this is the issue.

I suspect the fuse will be ok if all the other systems on this fuse are working so that is an easy way to prove it out. I attached that info below as well. It is fuse M10 so let us know what you find and we can go from there. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I checked the fuse, replaced the ribbon once again and everything looks okay. However I just realized I disconnected my driver's side visor which does have a vanity light and I believe is on the same fuse as the DVD player. Could this disconnection be linked? I plan on putting a new visor in this week.

Just to be clear, you have the connector for the lamp just disconnected? If this is the case then no. Those connectors are meant to protect the connections and so just unhooking them won't cause a short.

So I would not think that is related. However, if replacing this fixed it again, I suspect we have something rubbing that wiring and possibly causing the issue.

Did you see any damage on the one you pulled out?

No damage however, when I first pulled off the visor I yanked the wired pretty hard to try and find where it was connected. I'm wondering if I pulled another wire for the dvd player power. I just replaced the visor and it still has no power going to the DVD player. I accesses the wiring diagram for the van but I'm having trouble figuring out where the power cord to the dvd player runs to in the front to check that all the wires are good.

Do I need to pull off the headliner above the driver side to get at those wires?

Yes. You need to remove the trim panels on the a pillar on the passenger side to track that wiring. You most likely only need to do that side as it will start to drop down and you will have access to the wiring. Just continue to move back removing the trim panels and the headliner will come down.

Take a look at the attachment for the routing of the wiring.

Do you happen to know which one of those wires to the DVD player is the power?

The power feed is in this image it is the red wire that runs through the headliner console. Looks like there is the connector at the rear of the unit and another farther away, likely the ends of the ribbon cable.
